They’re all songs that got me through a certain part in my life. Now for all the fuckers that know me, understand that I strayed from metal, but it always seemed to drag me back. I think that once you like metal you can’t ever get away from it. It’s drilled right into your skull and you can never rid yourself of it.
So I said it. My serious talk for the day. Now on with the greatness. It’s hard not to laugh at people that love metal a little too much. Remember moshgirl the MAWshMast3r wiff da skillzzz?!?!?!
Well, if you didn’t know, she had a younger brother. l33t mawsh|ng madn3zzz!!!
Enough B.S. On with the kick assyness. A band I have unfortunately only been familiar with for the last 2 years. I have no clue how they always flew under the radar, but man, was I ever missing out. Opeth. The contrast between choking on granola and melodic vocals make me go insane. Not as insane as moshgirl, but close. This video is a song by Opeth called A Fair Judgment which shows Mikael’s (vocalist) ability to actually sing and not scream. It’s a good metal recruiting song to bring people to the metal-side.

This next video shows his ability to bring moshgirl and her brother back from the dead. Those that have never heard real metal before, brace yourself cause it’s not easily swallowed by people. If you can stand it, about 4 minutes in, he changes from throaty no throaty.

So to make up for those last one’s being taken down, I will just add this one called “Grand Conjuration” which has a little bit of both styles of singing.
Mikael Åkerfeldt is hands down the most talented man in metal. Sure, he might rival Mike Ricci and Brent Sopel for the most branches hit falling out of the ugly tree, but if you know anything about music, you will know that he is a true musician and that makes him the winner of the “Get any groupie I want cause I am fucking amazing” award.

Let me guess, you can’t install programs at work yet you are dying to listen to mp3’s? You can’t wait to get home to try and download the new Tracey Bonham??? I bet you’re too lazy to bring some cd’s from home too. Well guess what?! I-hacked has a solution for you. Using different search syntax (unlike the typical “star wars naked pictures princess leia spread eagle yoda c3p0 3way lightsaber”) you are able to search through directories of mp3s upload by other people. No wonder Google is the best search engine out there (is there even another one???). The g2p.org website has stepped it up a notch and made it easier for you to look for music. It does all the nasty querying for you. Have fun.
